It is a meta-skill that can be applied to any problem. By learning this critical thinking skill through self-reflection\, repentance and meditative prayer\, you will grow in self-awareness\, grit\, and effective decision-making. You will be taught how to identify and set clear goals\, how your thoughts and emotions can be an obstacle to discernment\, how to start responding and stop reacting\, how to manage your mind and grow in emotional resilience\, and how to apply practical daily exercises to grow in virtue using the Metanoia Catholic Journal and Scripture. This is an election campaign that is considered one of the most consequential of our lifetimes as Canadians\, particularly in light of our relationship with our southern neighbour\, cost of living concerns\, and potential job losses. It is understandable if we desire to retreat from the intensity of these political concerns. \n\n\n\nWe can also take a time of retreat to better deepen our political discernment within the environment of prayer\, spiritual insight\, and deeper appreciate of Catholic Social Teaching. SUMMARY:Openness to Christ’ words: A Path of encounter and conversion.
DESCRIPTION:MEN & WOMEN IGNATIAN – Jesus’ encounter with the sick\, the Pharisees\, sinners\, and all other sorts of people is critical for the process of personal conversion and transformation. The disciples who followed the Messiah had encountered him and were transformed by his words and his deeds. They were able to respond to the call: “come\, follow me” (Matt. 4:19)\, because they first met him and opened their hearts to receive his words. Saint Paul had the same experience on the road to Damascus when the Risen Christ asked him: “Saul\, Saul\, why do you persecute me?” (Acts 9:4). \n\n\n\nDuring this retreat\, we will focus on the Ignatian method of contemplation that suggests the use of our senses (SE 106)\, to contemplate together some of the significant moments of Jesus’ encounter with His audience and the healing and transformative process that followed as a result of these encounters.
